"Moanalua senior Emily King will be honored as the first Hawaii student to become a finalist for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award. There will be a special presentation at Moanalua High School tomorrow at 9:30 p.m. for King, who won a $1,000 donation for her school. King, who has earned varsity letters in cross country, track and field, swimming and water polo, was one of 12 finalists to be selected out of nearly 15,000 seniors nominated. Finalists were selected on the basis of academics, community service and athletics. One male and one female will be selected as national winners on Dec. 10 in New York."- Honolulu Star Bulletin Nov 14, 2004
